Billionaire entrepreneur and innovator Elon Musk might have just opened a new chapter in the history of the internet… with his recent Twitter policies.
These changes led many left users to flee to the social media platform called Mastodon. The platform uses an open and accessible social media protocol, ActivityPub.
The shift from Twitter to Mastodon could be an epoch-making digital revolution. It may be comparable with the invention of the web itself.
Musk Expects Twitter to Be Cash-Flow Break Even in 2023
Musk previously mentioned that his changes at Twitter might temporarily turn a revenue shortfall. He said during a Twitter Spaces chat that the company was headed for a “negative cash flow situation of $3 billion a year” when he took over. The billionaire said, “So that’s why I spent the last five weeks cutting costs like crazy.”
He added, “With the changes we’re making here on massively reducing the burn rate and building subscriber revenue… I now think that Twitter will be OK next year. I think we will be… roughly cash-flow break-even. That’s what I expect for next year.” Within weeks of taking over:
- Roughly two-thirds of Twitter’s original 7,500 employees were out of jobs
- Twitter is also cutting costs through terminations and ending some perks at headquarters
Musk has made moves to increase revenue, such as charging for user verification. Now he believes Twitter should be back on track financially in 2023… and expects it to be “roughly cash-flow break-even” next year.
So right now, Musk isn’t worried about possible financial setbacks at Twitter. He’s confident that Twitter will do well financially, no matter how much it loses.
Musk to Expose Fauci on Twitter?
Moreover, Musk teased that this week’s Twitter Files report would focus on the now-former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Anthony Fauci… in what could be known as the Fauci Files.
Musk turned to Twitter to tell users, “Hope you’re having a great day 1 2023! One thing’s for sure. It won’t be boring.”
In what is now called the “Twitter Files,” journalists tapped by Musk address various controversies, including:
- Censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop story during the 2022 presidential election
- Banning President Trump from tweeting after his role in the Capitol invasion on Jan. 6, 2021
The most recent Twitter File release focused on how both Trump and Biden administrations leaned on Twitter to moderate content during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Recent tweets from Musk also appear to be growing in numbers as he attacks Fauci… calling him “creepy” after New York Times reported that his home office was decorated with fan portraits of himself.
Right now, Musk is doing what he thinks is best for Twitter…
Once he gets rid of the excessive workers and all the fake accounts… advertisers will have a clear sense of how many real sets of eyes are on the platform. Then Musk can monetize the platform appropriately and profitably.
Until then, it is in everyone’s best interests that the woke whiners who know nothing about running a business stop telling successful business owners how to run profitable companies.
